Where's the pictures of your Marble Mt. elk?
My buddies wife and son killed theirs second day
30 mins. apart. 5x5,and 6x7.

SISQ!
Sorry! No Elk! Only hunted 4 days! Had a family emergency!!!
(ended up in jail for 3 days, I hate cops!)
Looks like I also came back a day to early since a nice bull was harvested were I was hunting at the next day!(bear peak)
THOUGH HUNT WITH OUT THE ELK TALKING!
I saw so many Bear and a 29" wide 3 pt buck!! So now its all about deer and ducks thanks for your help!
I still have 3 deer tags to fill and I am a better Deer hunter
than an ELK hunter just do-do happens with me and johnny law!
FYI everybody even the outfitters had a very very hard time killing elk for the 1st few day so your friends were indeed very lucky to being them early, so where were they hunting? I only know of two taken in the wilderness 1st two days and I was at ten bear and stanshaw (jaw bone loop) and my last day was bear peak so I was very much trying to find them!!

What the hell happened?? How do you know a nice bull was harvested the day after you left?? My buddy said the elk were talking like crazy on the second day, he bugled the 2 bulls right in??? I know there's lots of bear around here but a 29"
3 point??? come on man are you sure??
I know of 7 big bulls taken in the first 4 days of the hunt and 1 of them was an absolute monster i saw the meat and horns in the grocery store cooler in happy camp on monday morn.
And no the outfitters did'nt have a hard time (at least not the one i know). If you put your time in and work hard you should be able to fill a marble mt. tag. Don't know if you ever got off the roads down there but that is the key !! My friends went in about 6 miles and camped at ukonom lake. There were elk everywhere!! I don't mind telling you where the hot spot was because you'll probably never draw that tag again.(I HOPE).
More chances for me to draw!!! Too bad you had to leave early
Shame to throw a tag like that in the shi**er.

To heck with the elk, we want to hear the jail story.

I just don't get you! 1st your buddies don't see any sign of elk while scouting! then they are the world greatest elk hunters!!
I say it was slow and you say they hammered them!!
All I ran into say the elk were not bugleing, you say they sang all day!! and the buck I saw was a very large 3pt and a muley but you are calling me I liar (in a round about way, send you the photo soon).
I had been in jail! yes I hit a JERK OFF of cop that was way outta line! charges was drop after a drug test! and I saw him last night and he said he was sorry for his actions to us both!
So I know what I know and you know what you know and I will leave
you with that and I am a very lucky guy at draws for tags so who knows what I will draw next?
And yes you come across that you and your friends are better than me! deer and ducks left for me! good luck
Jack

Jack,
Not calling you a liar at all.I,m just telling you what my friend told me and i have pictures and meat in my freezer to prove it.
It was the dammdest thing i swear. It's true that on their 3 scouting trips they were'nt seeing squat for sign. So they got here on mon. before the opener and just made a decision on where to start. After hunting all day the first day it became obvious there were no elk in that area. They moved over the ridge tne next morning and set up camp. That evening they heard a bugle and persued it the 5x5 was shot at 25 yards and the 6x7 at about 200 yards. They got damm lucky!! I totally believe you saw a monster "blacktail" they are around, but no mulies around here
Good luck on the deer and ducks

the elk are usually easy to find in that area, but you never can tell when they'll be just a drainage over.....Rack, who was your guide...?..
