Well, as promised, here are the pics of my 2004 LE MANTI Bull. He's not a monster, but I am pleased with him. I shot him at last light on Thursday 9/23/04. He was feeding on top of a ridge with 8 cows and two spikes, about 400-450 yards above me. I hit him with 30.06 with 165 grain Scirroco's. He ran down the hill about 100 yards before expiring, and then tumbled down about another 75 yards. (Luckily none of his points were broken). I haven't had him officially scored yet, but I threw a tape on him real quick and he scores around 330. His thirds are a little weak, but he has some good mass, which helped make up for the short thirds. Sorry that the pics are a little blurry, I didnt realize that the camera had been bumped from auto focus to manual focus when I handed it to my father-in-law to take the pics.

Tuff, That's a great bull. It looks like his main beams are long! I'm excited for you because I could tell how excited you were to get going before the hunt. Congrats!

Awesome bull!!!!!!!! Man I can't wait just a week and a half then my general bull tag goes into affect.

I harvested my bull on Thirsday Sept. 23, 2004. I was down there from the 16-20, then had t ocome back to Salt Lake for a family emergency, then went back down on the 23rd, and harvested him that evening at last light. Where abouts was your brother hunting at?? I talked with the few hunters I actually ran into while I was there.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-27-04 AT 02:26PM (MST)[p]I spent a little time by baseball flats two days before the hunt started. I love the area up there, it is absolutely perfect elk hunting country.

I know what you mean about the ATV riders up there. Opening day I spotted a 350 class bull moving down a ridge towards a clearing where I would have perfect shot on him. As he was moving closer to the clearing, along came a bunch of ATV riders up the bottom of the valley, and spooked my elk into the next county. The thing that pissed me off was that there were signs at the creek where they had to cross that said NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES PAST THIS POINT. They saw me walking towards them pissed as heck, so they turned and headed back down the way they came.
