Has anyone had the chance to try this new bullet yet? I'm curious if the relief grooves in it reduces pressure and helps accuracy like the XLC coating does. might have to try a box or two of them.

To change the subject a bit. Whats your take on the XLC? Sounds great for heavier game but I couldn't load up an accurate load in my Rem 700 30-06. For hunting purposes it was good enough but this bullet is supposed to be so accurate and I was a bit disappointed. I'm wondering if it was the coating or just the bullet. With partitions I can consistantly get sub inch groups but the xlc was only giving me 3"+ groups.
That triple shock sounds awesome but don't want to waste the time & money if it isn't that accurate.

I've had trouble getting Barnes X bullets to group as well. The Barnes web sight http://www.barnesbullets.com/ has some valuable info for those of us who have had trouble getting them to group. I just got some Triple Shocks to try out. I almost gave up on the "X" bullets till reading their suggestions.

i've only used the XLC's in my 300 win rem sendero, but have had decent luck with them as far as groups go. with 80 gr of h4831 and the xlc 165 my groups would stay around one inch with 3 shots at 100 yds. that has been the only load that i've worked up the xlc's, and i haven't had the chance to try the uncoated x-bullets. supposedly the coating on the xlc is supposed to help reduce pressure, increase more shots between cleaning, and help accuracy. i'm getting ready to try the 130 xlc in my 270, so hopefully i can get around 1 to 1 1/4 inch groups.
