I love this time of year in good ole Heber City the streets are lined up with trucks, campers, and atvs heading to the mountains to pursue them the all mighty wapiti. I have missed the last three years of this hunt and after tonight I remember why.

Hope all those mighty rifle hunters have a great time running into each other and fighting over who shot the spike of their dreams!

I think I will stick to the Archery hunt forever just so I can enjoy myself away from the rest of Utah and who so ever decides to come to Utah to participate in this cluster they call an Elk hunt!

Well enough is enough enjoy the rest of the hunts everybody!

i agree - i only hunt the archery now too.
what i have noticed is their are a lot of weekend warriors.
guys who just go for saturday & sunday.
that's not near enought ime to hunt elk/deer.
archery is the only way to go!!!!!!!

Amen to that!
I have not hunted spikes for about 8 years due to the fact of more people and vehicles that elk in the area. It really sucks when that happens...
I guess I'll just stick to shooting all I can with my VIDEO camera during the rut. And I can shoot the big ones, and the small ones, and as many as I want!!!!
Glad I'm not up their in that cluster****...
Rick

A bad day hunting is better than a Good Day at Work!!

I'm with ya. Converted to archery elk about five years ago and will never go back. Too many people with too many bad experiances.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-12-04 AT 04:57PM (MST)[p]SSHHHHHHHH!!! We don't want everyone to know our secret do we?
I have never held a General Season Rifle elk tag in my life. A couple late season cow tags but that it. It's been archery only from day one.

Reminds me of Colorado unit 12 Dead Horse Loop Road this year, I will have to give serious thought about going back next year.
