I came across this picture this past week through some e-mail. Don't know much about it except I understand it was taken in Oregon this fall.

The bull is suppose to score around 438. What ever the score there's no doubt he's a real slug. Perhaps someone else know more about it.

Wow, nice bull, looks like an archery tree stand kill from the angle of the shaft?

WOW!!!!I cant wait for the season to open!!!!!!

That is truley an awesome bull. This might be the big bull out of Mt. Emily but hard to say. The vegetation looks like it might have been in the Walla Walla watershed, or the wenaha. Hopefully a reliable source will have some more info.

I don't care where it came from....except for the fact that it Is a Huge Oregon Bull. I knew Oregon had em here and it was just a matter of time before someone got lucky. I think the Elk are a tougher hunt here than other states for the simple fact that there is lots and lots of Hiding cover. It's hard to pattern a critter in that sort of stuff...just my 2 cents....let alone see them.

Here is another westside bull taken in the Cascade Hunt.

I agree, I live in the Cascades and there are plenty of good bulls around here, but it is so thick(brushy) that I don't even hunt much around here. I go east were you can actually see something at 30 yards.

I take it nobody takes much interest in Oregon? More to hunt for us....I take it for the better.

I just got an email at work with both those bulls in it and another monster bull. Seems that they all are from the westside.

Both bulls are hogs, no doubt about it. I would love to know a score on the one in the back of the truck. I bet that only the 2nd bull is a westside bull due to the coloration of the antlers, I've never seen a rocky mountain bull with such red antlers and vice versa I've never seen a rosy that was lighter color in antlers.

Now way that 400+ bull is a rosy. Horns are weigh to light and a rosy that big would be in like the top 5 ever shot. Those extreme northeast units are very damp and moist with lots of vegetation, as seen in the picture

Ive heard alot of rumors about hugh bulls coming out of Mt. Emily unit. I heard of atleast 2 bulls that were taken during the bow season and just today i heard about an 8 point that was shot this past week up there. If anybody knows anything about these phantum bulls please post some info.

If anyone knows anything about the hunter/owner of the bull, I'd sure love to know how I can get in contact with him/her. Thanks.

oregonbone...if someone killed an 8 point in the Mt Emily last week, then it was poached!!! The first season is for spike only.

I didnt really register in my mind till after i posted that. But you are correct, the first season in Mt.Emily is spike only. I'm to have to do some more checkin on that rumor. Might be a miscommunication about an 8 point during archery. I'll find out and let you know.
