These pic's were a result of the bull telling me where he was but I'll start at the beginning. This bull was wandering into the unit at dark while bugling and after dark crossed the unit boundary road making him a target. The next morning I went into the area to try to bugle him in but he was harem'd up and bugling but would come in. I made a feeble attempt to stalk in on this herd bull but just jumped satellite bulls coming into my bugle so I backed out hoping not to run him and his herd off. That evening I came back into the area only to hear from a antlerless permit hunter that he had been bugling all day in that basin. That is when I took off into the basin while listening for him and eventually I did hear him and made a beeline that way. When I got within about 150 yards of his bugling, I tried to cow call him into me but again he didn't come only a couple of satellite bulls came in. So this time I just headed for the bugle and every time I jumped elk I cow called and he kept bugling till I saw the top of his rack thru an ally way in the trees. I moved to where I could see his body and fired just as he was heading out of the shooting lane. To my surprise, he dropped and as he was rolling down the hill I couldn't believe how big the antlers were. The rest is history with this 7x7 that gross scores 345. Thanks Littlefoot for posting these pics.
