Draw results are posted!

No love for me, figured I had the points to draw deer unit 34 but nada!! Did get a couple doe tags in a near by unit, even those are sold out which I've never seen before. Crazy year for tags - hope others have better success.

Seriously!!, This is the unit I was leaning towards, but thankfully switched last minute since we wouldn't have drawn it.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-22-17 AT 01:53PM (MST)[p]I got lucky & drew 119-2 for deer. Only had 2 pts in the special draw. Boy I sure didn't see that coming.

Good Hunting to those that drew!!

Headed to Region F with my dad and brothers. First time hunting Wyoming after vacationing and visiting friends in Cody for the last 10 years. Dad first mule deer hunt since he was 22, he is 68 now. So pumped for the boys trip!

Drew second choice deer with my brother. Now to see how this new leftover draw works out!
Congrats to all that drew!

Headed to Region G!

Too much internet discussion recently about 34, including pics of bucks from the unit. That's all it usually takes and point creep goes ballistic!

LAST EDITED ON Jun-22-17 AT 12:30PM (MST)[p]I got extremely lucky.

I drew type 1 elk (7), type 1 antelope (103), and type 3 whitetail (15) in eastern Wyoming.

My brother-in-law drew the same type 1 elk tag.

I need a bigger freezer.

WOW is all I can say. I'm still surprised that the point creep went up 2 full points on the east side for deer, and the unit i applied for had triple the applicants this year. On a brighter note I did draw a lope tag.

Snuck by with a G tag. Anyone know the exact tag numbers for g this year?

NR Special
6 pts 100%
5 pts 59%

NR regular
7 pts 100%
6 pts 81%

And very low odds in random draw!

LAST EDITED ON Jun-22-17 AT 02:23PM (MST)[p]>Huntfishall1 do you have the #s
>for H as well??

NR special
2 pts 100%
<2 pts 69%
1 pt 0%

NR regular
3 pts 100%
<3 pts 100%
2 pts 22%

Crappy odds for random draw here too!

10 years ago you could draw Region H in special draw as second choice! Cuts in NR tags and more demand has caused point creep.

Here is my prediction. In the next few years you will see G stay about the same on creep and H start to catch up with G. They are very similar in hunt quality and also buck quality. The only major difference between the 2 is so the wilderness in H which if you are going with an outfitter anyway no big deal. Also there is a ton of great hunting in H that is not wilderness.

54 tags in the Random, 36 in the Special Random, 164 in the Reg. PP Draw, and 110 in the Special PP Draw for a total of 364 tags.

64-1 antelope in special draw with 8 points. Also drew a region F deer tag. My 16 year old son has the 51-1 elk tag so will now have a deer tag in my pocket in case we bump into a good buck during his hunt - won't really be hunting for deer though

With three NR tags we will be having fun in WY this fall.

58 antelope for me. Second time in three years. 12 year old daughter drew 56 antelope, and a cow/calf elk tag.

Know one guy who has put in for 101 for over 20 years and never drew out

LAST EDITED ON Jun-26-17 AT 10:36PM (MST)[p]5? Antelope
2? Elk
Gen deer
Late whitetail doe
Missed my cow/calf tag. It went from 78% two years ago to 69% last year to 29% this year.

What unit is each tag for, as the units aren't the same for the two animals?
