I was in there yesterday hoping to see a couple a big boys who made it thru the season, but nada, tons of does only one buck about 150ish...

just wondering if the muzz season kick the crap outta of 'em...also seemed the rut had died down or maybe hasn't kicked in yet ? thanks Manny.........

I've never been to M-9 is that over by TuleLake? I usually hunt around Hornbrook along the Klamath River. Still searching for that big boy blacktail. Got lucky in 02 and got a 25" 7X4--almost 26 but not quite. I know the rut around Hornbrook started in early November--did some scouting and saw some OK bucks all chasing does.
Going to Alturas/Madeline Plains area tomorrow.
