i talked to a buddy of mine who is a RA on campus down at yavapai, he told me about one of his female residents shooting a 7x8 419" elk not to long ago, anyone heard of it?

Ya I heard of it but haven't seen pics yet. It scores around 400 as is and is missing a lot of busted points putting it in that 420 range if it was all intact.

Casey, I went and saw it today. Awesome rack!! It is a typical 7x7 frame with a split G2 on the left antler. They had already repaired the busted points w/o exaggerating anything I believe and it looks AWESOME!! My Dad knows the father of the girl that killed it real well and he had asked Dad where to look for some elk in that unit since he spends a lot of time trailing lions thru there. Dad told him about a spot where he's seen some giant rubs in the past year or so, so the guy went and glassed it. Well he spotted this freakin toad with a couple other nice ones and come opening day they got him. Looks like I shoulda put some time in there at least videoing the darn things. Dad had no clue an elk like that was in there though or I'm sure he wouldn't have told him jack.

o i made sure that she is, according to her, they glassed up the bull 2 days before the season, started hiking at 3am and didnt get to where they wanted to be till 630, one shot from a 7mm at 474 yards!
