ML elk in NM unit 15

Just wondering if anyone hunted these past ML hunts in 15 lately? My boy has his hunt Dec. 11-15..for cow ,hopefully to get a shot off!!! good shooting! ...star >>---->

I was on a bull hunt there last week. I stayed in the northern part of the unit over by Fox Mountain. Lots of elk in there, but they've gone almost completely nocturnal. There's a couple of water holes they're hitting pretty hard, and a person would stand a good chance of getting a cow there at first light.
No bull for me, but it was a great hunt, and did see the bull of my dreams. No shot, though.

The full moon will be going away so that's good news as visibility will diminish greatly for the animals at night. Good luck to your boy and Randy as well.

Only 1 week to go. I went to 15 for deer and all I saw were elk. I'm hoping my luck stay the same.
