rangefinders....Nikon or Bushnell??

I'll probably be looking at getting a new laser rangefinder.

I was wondering if anyone had their choice between the two which would pick Nikon or Bushnell rangefinders.

My main criteria is that the rangefinder is not too bulky, I'm looking for something more compact. Also, quality. Not EXPENSIVE quality, but the quality compared between the two.

What has been heard, both positive and negative about either.

Thanks

Between myself and three of my hunting buddies,we have tried them both and we prefer the Nikons because of their accuracy and dependability.

I have enjoyed the Lieca 1200
You might want to check one out before you buy.

Get the Nikon 800. Its the most expensive of the group, but it is waterproof. It doesn't really work out to 800, but it does much better on game at 400-500 yards where it really matters anyway. I bought a 600 first and didn't like it. There is a difference. I don't think the Bushnell's are waterproof. I looked at both and liked the Nikons better.

My wife has the Nikon and i have the Bushnell, they both work about the same but the Nikon seems to be a bit more dependable. I have had to replace the batteries on mine about twice as much as hers. The first two bushnells i had i had to send back but the third one has worked good. So i guess what i am saying is if i had to buy another one it would prolly be the nikon.

I bought the Nikon Buckmaster 600 this past season and loved it. I wanted something that was good for both Bow and Rifle seasons and the Nikon fit the bill. Sure it would be nice to have a Lecia 1200, but for $260 the Nikon is a great value.

I bought the bushnell 500 from cabelas. You can not beat the quality for the price. They are a little larger in size than some of the other models, but when holding and comparing it didn't really bother me. I have to admit I have not looked into nikon that much, but i have been more than happy with the bushnell. For $200 you can't beat them.

If you can afford it get the new Leica Geovids. Bino/rangefinder combo. All I can say is VERY VERY VERY NICE
