Winchester pre 64 ?

it has serial number manufacture dates for all winchesters on it. pretty handy deal really. what is a model 70-c? i have a bunch of pre 64's, but i'm not familiar with the "c".

Suppoedly its some special model, I think they put a longer barrel on it, and a diffrent rear site and a diffrent but plate. I don't know all the particulars on it yet, just doing some reserch. If anyone knows anything let me know.
It used to be his "meat" gun. My granddad passed it to him after he took about 100 elk with it (it was the camp gun)... My dad took probably about half that many before he retired it to the gun cabinet... That thing has seen more action than I ever will...
