Land access rules

My wife drew a elk in Utah for this season and I have a few ?? about land access.
What are the rules for accessing State lands shown as blue on BLM maps? In CO some are open to hunting and others are not.
Is it up to the landowner to post their lands or is up to the hunter to know the status of the land ?
Thanks for the help just trying to get my ducks in line.

In Ut I think you are the one that has to know where you are, It's does need to be posted if it a CMWU

If the private lands are cultivated or irrigated then they do not need to be posted.

All other lands must be posted "No Trespassing" at every corner, every stream, every road, trail or gate. The biggest issue you will run into is public access points which have Posted signs on each side of the access point. The road may be public and the lands on each side may be private. (The road may also be private, so find out before you drive up it.) Roads that have public access, through private grounds, can be found at any county seat, or many Public Lands Agencies, if the access road leads to public lands. Best of Luck
