As fall of 2005 plans for most are in there infancy, I thought I would post this. I noticed the section for swap hunts but it didn't seem like it was getting very much traffic, so I hope no one minds if I post here.
I have hunted elk several times and was hoping to find a quality hunt with any weapon, archery, muzzleloader, or rifle in most any state on either public or private land. I don't expect over a 300 inch bull, but that would be a bonus. I do hope to get away from the crowds, and I don't want to burn the six points I have in Colorado, unless that would put me into a great area with a high chance for success.
I can swap a hunt in Iowa, for archery, but anyone interested must understand that the process will more than likely take two years of applying before drawing. But that could work out, we could hunt elk in 2005 then whitetails in Iowa in 2006. I hunt nearly all public ground there, but in the 04 season I saw several bucks that would score over 150. Thanks.
