Manti Archery hunt

Tell me if this is dumb. I have 8 points. I put in for the Manti archery hunt for elk. the odds last year were 1 in 8 drew tags last year. I have archery hunted for 3 years now.

It seems like the odds are decent for me. I have never killed an elk. What do you think?

I think if you are proficeint with archery equipment, and have good hunting skills, it could be a good hunt. on there other hand, if you don't have the qualities listed above you may have wasted 8 points.

I drew and hunted the Manti archery area last year and killed a 300 class bull. He was a baby compared to the bulls we were chasing but decided with only 2 more days to hunt that it was time to kill one. It was a tough hunt for me because of the large number of hunters in the same areas I was hunting. Knowledge of the area and elk kept us in elk every day but nearly every day I had a bull blown out by another hunter. Good luck to you in the draws. It will be an awesome experience for ya!
