I have never hunted New Mexico before, but am interested in a muzzleloder elk hunt this fall, in 34 or 36, if I do not draw tags! Is 4 unitwide landowner muzzleloader bull tags hard to come by? Thanks, Chris.

Not hard I suspect (depends a lot on price you are willing to pay - top dollar ones stick around longer, cheapest are already gone) and pricey I know bow tags are a steal at $2,000, typically $2,500 so I am guessing rifle tags are $3,000 each, plus license (total of $3,500 each) FYI.

There are a TON of landowners with tags in 34, if you call IMMEDIATLY after the draw you will find tags, FYI even after you do spend antoehr 3 hours continuning to call, prices vary, often substantially. 3 more hours might save you $1,00 total (4) not a bad hourly wage!

Good luck I have tired to draw there (34) often (bow) and trying for muzzy this year.

Above info was for 34 FYI
