I'm curious if these units have any towns with motels nearby? I would like to find a unit with lodging nearby if possible as I will most likely be flying. Thanks - Brian

Brian,
You should be able to find lodging in the towns of Flagstaff and Munds Park (south of Flag 18 miles on I-17), and at Mormon Lake Lodge and Happy Jack Lodge along the border between 6A and 5. Good luck in the draw.

Thanks redrabbit.....I'm trying to decide which of these November hunts to apply for; they both seem pretty good. Brian

They are both very good hunts, I am more partial to 6A but that is just me. But Flagstaff is the biggest town with the most wide range of Hotels for you to stay in

Nope, don't have a tag, but if I do get lucky and draw I would like to be close to lodging. What about 22north, does that have any nearby lodging? Thanks - Brian

22 north has the town of payson with many motels and other lodging in the area of Pine/Strawberry 20 minutes away. I killed a decent bull in 6-a north last year and just could not close the gap on numerous 320-350 bulls. Just my opinion, but all three are good quality units for 300-360 bulls, but you will have to do your homework. Try and touch base with some very generous locals. They are not the top units in the state but they still provide quality animals and memories of a lifetime like only Arizona can.

If you are trying to find a place to stay, a Motel would be easy to find by going to this site.
Go to: www.goggle.com and type in the search area for Motels in Flagstaff. Use for any town you might consider close to hunt area.
Good luck in the draws.

Sleep in the woods with the Elk and you'll have a much better experience!

Stayed in Munds in 2000 & 2001 hunted 6a & 7m was nice to have bed and shower each night but like the others said you miss the whole experience if we ever get another tag we will camp maybe we will get lucky this year N.R. with 4 bonus points the worst part was where we were hunting and the travel time by the time you grabbed something to eat, showered, got in bed it was 10:30and we were leaving at 4:00 each mourning not whining it was great to be that tired each day GOOD LUCK ON YOUR DRAW
