Elk decoy (Montana Elk decoy)

I used them during my 04 Archery Elk Nevada Hunt. They worked great with some cow in heat scent in the area. Problem is, is that you really need to watch the wind when you use these. I had a 390 bull spook because of these things. He brought in 20 cows to the decoys and then the wind changed and made them wobble a bit, looked a little wierd to him and he busted outa the area. Make sure that you put some backing or somthing on these things and you will have great success.

I used one last season in unit 1 Arizona and the decoy worked real well......I would recommend not trying to use the metal post legs, they occasionally tap into each other when you are moving and the clink noise can spook animals..... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

LAST EDITED ON May-09-05 AT 01:04PM (MST)[p]They really help to take the attention off...eyes focused on somethin other than a hunter...:)

I think they look very realistic compared to most decoys..:)

if i could just figure out how to post a picture,
i would show you a small heard of decoys.
they are extreamly easy to set.
and pack into a flat area of about 1 1/2 thick and about 14" dia.
they fit into a back pack with ease and pop-up and set up in just about 15 seconds. I've it down to about 7 second or less, either setting or tear down.
these are'nt Montana decoys,
they're INSTANT ELK . every one has it's own personality,
they are all individualy hand made and each dyed to its own
color, Not photo enhanced.
and at a distance they don't turn white on you.

He must have never seen an epileptic cow before

A few years back was hunting elk spotted a cow by a pond about mile off thought might be a bull around got down to the area within about a 100 yards and realize it was a dcoy fool me.

Mr.101;
Where can a person pick those up?
Web site address?

Can you buy just 2 or 3?

Hey I have two of those; I won them at a sheep banquet in Las Vegas. Did you donate to them ?

Really cool decoys. Got to admit, the first time I tried to put them back (had them both up in the living room) I had a hard time but once I figured it out, was a piece of cake.

Regrets I havent used them in the field yet still waiting to draw a tag. But when I saw them set up at the banquet I had to put my ticket in. The had them set up on either side of a pine tree.

Great decoys.

INSTANT ELK.
every one are hand made and numbered,
and signed by,
the supply is by demand only.
i have about 55 of these elk being used as of todate.
NevadaChukar,
i was wondering who got those at the banquet.
I do have about 10 on hand,
the only way i have sold them is on E-bay.
when i get into making some more, i will produce about 2 a week.
right now i'm building a new home and don't have time for them.

Love the Montana Decoys. Used one last archery season, had a 350 bull at one end of the meadow and i was at the other end. I put that decoy along side of me and walked through the meadow. Cut the distance from 200 yards to 50 then his cows notice something wasnt right.

Elkmaster,

You plan on selling any in the near future? Also, would you be able to provide a close up pic.
