Diamond Mtn. Utah LE elk?

I've got an opporunity to purchase an elk tag on Diamond Mountain in Eastern Utah for what I feel is a fair price.

I'd really like to hear from someone that has hunted out there. I know there is a lot of private. I would have access to a decent ranch, but would rather hunt on public.

Is a 330+ bull a reasonable goal?

I'd appreciate any feedback ASAP as I need to make a decesion early today!

Thanks!

Prism,

It better be dirt cheap.
There are some 330's, but the norm is 250-285, with a handlefull of 300's. I have been hunting this area since 1997. Last I time I checked, the going rate for a landowner elk tag was $4,000-$5,000. Considering the kind of money for a possible opportunity of a 320 class bull, I would rather go to NM. That's what me and my friends do. You can get the same class(bull B&C class) landowner tags for 1/3 the cost of a Diamond bull tag.
My personal feeling is that I would not pay over $2,700 for a Diamond elk tag, and I would expect to harvest a 320 bull, knowing I would have to hunt long and hard.
Hope this helps.
