Nice bull Tuffbucker! elkslayer54, lets see your pics, any elk is big really. I just want to know how to take good elk pictures because I'm going this year. Any bulls

Here's a pic of my 2004 AZ elk. At 300 plus yards and broadside in thick trees I missed the fact that he was missing his seconds until I walked up on him (ya know how they kinda line up with the eyeguards when broadside) so he turned into a 5x5 instead of the 6x6 I thought I put down. He sure was a big bodied old fightin' son-of-a-gun. Kinda of an odd ball rack so I was pretty happy with him non-the-less...

I got this bull for my B-day on the Santa Clara Pueblo reservation in New Mexico. Me and my brother got this one. He scored 340 in. and had a 53 3/4 in spread. I love this bull I wish I could get it mounted. Thanks littlefoot.

I killed my bull up on the Mogollon Rim in AZ. It was a lot of fun...my bro & & both had tags. I killed this bull at 50 yards. Everything happened so fast I wasn't even sure I hit him until I saw the blood trail. 100 yards later I had my first archery bull! My bro also killed a nice 6 point, spined him & the elk dropped in his tracks at 30 yards. Can't wait to do it again...maybe this year? haha doubt it.

The bull is from unit 1 in Arizona. I think it scores around 280. The Buck is from unit 62 in Colorado. I don't know what it would score. Thanks for posting it.

Hopefully the bull I get this year will dwarf this one and be just as much fun as the friends on either side of me and myself had on that hunting trip. There's nothing to compare those bulls screaming in the trees. Well nothing but a huge mulie...

Our 2004 bulls. My big one scores 363 B&C,and is missing 7" broken bone. It's a 8x6 frame.

Can't wait for this season. I have some unit 6C NM landowner tags for sale. Rifle or Muzzy ($1,500), Archery ($899)

Hey guys, they are all NICE bulls. You don't need to knock your elk with "it's not too big, but...." If it wasn't a nice bull, you wouldn't have shot it...
Congrats to everyone!!! Keep the pic's coming...
I'd post mine, but HE"S NOT TOO BIG!! hehe... I'll see what I can find....

Here's my 2003 Archery Bull...

A bad day hunting is better than a Good Day at Work!!

Alright, I'll throw up a pic of a "trophy" elk of a different sort: Here's a Tuley elk (rare for any hunter) I took on a spike-only tag in California back in 2001. This was a straight up draw (no points system) and the odds of drawing the tag were less than 1% (3 spike tags for 360+ applicants.)

One of the fun parts of that hunt was that to get to a group of about 6 spikes that were bedded in tall grass, I had to belly crawl through a herd of cows that had 3 giant bulls tending them that were screaming their heads off and constantly challenging each other and worrying about who's ladies were who's... it was quite a scene.

And for those of you that like numbers: He weighed in at 425 lbs on the hoof and his B&C score is right around 85 or 90 (give or take a few inches since I wasn't sure exactly were to take the mass measurements...............)

Thanks for posting the pics LF. Pictured was the "Lava Bull" I got last year in Idaho near the INEL. The elk were tough to find in this huge desert unit and after a week wondered if I'd ever see one. Once we determined the habitat they hung out in, we were in elk every day. We saw 6 bulls on the hunt & this was the best of the trip. The terrain was easy but the rocks were tuff on the toes. Good Luck on your hunt. Brushbeater

wow some nice bulls taken in recent times, congradulations to all on what look like to be some memorable hunts, here's a few pics of a father and son with their bulls taken in the same year! also another of a bull taken in Unit 27 AZ, good luck to everyone who drew this year, hope to see some nice bulls!
