That is Chad Smith I believe. If its Chad Smith, he is a very good guide..........I have a few friends that speak highly of him and as for his hunting abilities, he can find big animals..... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

Correct me if I am wrong, but I though Chad Smith had his guide license revoked. I read on the AZ Game and Fish monthly notes about a year ago and saw his name for pursuing Antelope illegally. ???

read between the lines.....pursuing antelope with a truck?
the officer stated clearly in his report that Mr Smith never
left the roadway....it was a county road with a speed limit of
55 miles per hour....the fish and game said that he used his truck to cut the distance to the speedgoats....99.9% of goat hunters should be careful...His hunter was a assistant chief of
police...give me a break....Chad Smith is a ethical and professional guide that got bagged as a trophy by the arizona
fish and game....thanks for your informative post azh88uso...
I hope you never get in the crosshairs yourself....in my discussions with chad I have found him to be both Honest and
forthright....enuff said......

Very well said. His run in was very suspect and a bogus ticket. Anyone should be very aware if you spot a goat and move with a vehicle to park, you could get a ticket....... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

Chad is a great guy and one heck of a hunter. I have hunted with him on two different hunts, both hunts were great!! I would hunt with him again if I get lucky enough to draw a AZ tag.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-25-05 AT 03:55PM (MST)[p]a couple years ago the game and fish added a law that basically said that if you left your house with a gun in your truck, you could be cited for hunting from the vehicle. it was up to the opinion of the "officer". i know a couple folks who were cited for driving down the road with a rifle in the rack. literally. edhunter, who talks a lot on the bear and lion forum, and his wife were cited for going down the road on an atv with an unloaded rifle. last i heard, the azgfd was trying real hard to settle out of court. maybe he'll read this and elaborate. just because a guy got cited doesn't mean he's a bad guy. don't mean he's a good guy either. just means he was in the woods. i haven't seen the particular statute in the reg's for a couple years. maybe it's been repealed. it said right in it, if you were in your truck, with a gun, driving around, you could be cited by a game warden that thought you were road hunting. seems like i heard that they got it pounded in em several times too.

Kinda sounds like the question I asked struck a nerve. I was not attacking anyone with the question, simply posting what I came across. As far as being cited for pursuing game from a vehicle or harrassing wild or what ever the charge ended up on the dockett, we all know it takes more than a truck to dump an antelope. The guy has a reputation in the southwest for taking huge animals. Deer, Elk, Antelope, you name it. I doubt his truck gave him the edge for all the animals under his belt. Time in the field will never be discounted in learning the animals to find the bigguns. Give you a break? Relax Jackson, I never said anyone was unethical and not professional, you can debate that with someone else.
Great post though, great response, and well said. As far as cross hairs, what is that? I will gladly stand broad side in yours because the nerve I struck seems to have caused too many tears for you to see through the scope.
Read my post again, I never attacked anyone with the post. Thanks for taking it upon yourself to set the record straight. Well done.
