I have a friend that drew this tag. Hunt dates are around Dec 2-8. Sounds like a pretty good tag but wanted to get input from the folks here.

....trophy potental is good for someone who has the time to scout....if you don't get a guide....imoa....too good of a tag to not take it serious....if you want to go guided Ty Goodman is
the best that I found....no question in my mind....but I am sure there are other guides that do well in that unit...lots of glassing...be in shape....

I was hoping it was tough as hell. Told my buddy he needs to get his butt in shape :)

He will hire a guide for sure. Do you have this guys website?

What are the elevations like?

TY Goodman's web is http//www.goodman-outfitters.com. Ty knows this country like the back of his hand. He's totally committed to finding the best bulls in the unit. His picture gallery is proof. You'll see lots of bulls on this hunt in the 300-330's, anything over that should be shot without hesitation. Hope you get lots of snow.

My guess is he would shoot the 1st good 6 point bull he sees. His 1st Elk hunt.

I got to get some pictures posted of the one my nephew got last year it was right at 350 DIY hunt, they got 3 out of 4 tags the other 2 wasn't very big, but those guys was just looking for any bull while my nephew hunts for trophies, where he hunted (tough area)they didn't want to go back in after a couple of days because it was to steep and their knees was killing them from the hillside angle, but he keep going back in until he catch-up with the big -one.I have to get this picture put to disk so I can post some.
