First Rubs

Historically I find my first Elk rubs or see my first mature bull with signs of rubbing about ten days into August. "Eastern Oregon"

I observed (8) nice 5x5 and two 6 bys on the Oregon coast this morning that had no signs of rubbing. Do any of you Rosie runners have a good feel when they start to rub?

Who is going to post the first 2005 pic of a bull with rubbed head gear? That is a request.

Out this weekend in Az, I saw a couple new rubs but didn't see any elk that showed signs of rubbing, The rubs that I saw were worked over pretty good also, Seemed early to me but close enough I guess.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-31-05 AT 10:54PM (MST)[p]The bulls I have seen so far look pretty grwon up and I would guess they will start rubbing anytime, but who knows I havnt seen any actually rubbing yet, maybe this weekend Ill get out again. Oh and anyone know anyone with a 5bn tag ML wants help let me know I'd hate to let a monster get away another year, but I didnt get the tag myself and would sure like to help someone out. HE'll hit real big!

I had that 5BN tag years ago with a bow. It was a pretty fun hunt.
