Big weekend!

I know a bunch of you are going out this weekend. It's the close of A-zone, and the opener of others. I myself am headed into C-3. We had great luck there last year on the opener. Three of us taged out by 4:30pm on Saturday. This year I wouldn't mind if it took some more time though. I love spending time in that part of Ca. Anyway, I wish everyone headed out this glorious weekend "Good luck!" Let's hear back about how well we all do!!!

Well...I got mine. How'd everyone else do? On Sunday morning my season was over. I shot a nice little 3x4. As soon as I get the film back (and figure out how to post them) I'll put them up.

Off to Oregon this weekend!!!

Ok, I think I've got it. I had to get the wife to help me figure out how to post a photo. ("Thanks hun!!!")

The first pic. is the 3x4 shot on Sunday, September 22. California's C zones don't have a great success rate, but this was my second year hunting there and I love it. So far I'm two for two. I probably just jinxed myself!!!

The second pic. is another 3x4. I got this one on Sept. 29, 2002. I went up to southern Oregon to hunt with some cousins. They live smack in the middle of the Applegate unit. I was a little supprised at how STEEP it is. But it keeps a lot of ya-hoos out of the woods. Just like Ca. no one likes to walk more than 10 feet from a road. Better for me. We didn't see a single person all weekend. Unlike the first buck which walked up and let me shoot him from about 35 feet (honest injun!), This one I spotted from about 600 yards at the bottom of a clear cut. I was able to get to a range of 233 yards. My longest shot ever. Man was I happy. My best buck with my best shot. Now I,m all done for this year, that is untill I can get after the birds.
