THIS IS ONE SKULL I DONT MIND PACKING BACK WHILE OUT SHED HUNTING.

finding the nose bones definitely made that skull worth packing out.

judging by the narrow circumference around the base of the horns, it was likely a cow.

did you polyurethane it or why is it so shiny?

muleyz,

i like the broken horn on the second skull. it adds alot of character.

i'm not aware of a better method of preservation, but i'll check with someone i know and get back to you.

MULEYZ,

i just heard back from my friend about what should be done to preserve the skulls. the answer is: let it dry slowly (if found moist) and keep out of direct sunlight and moisture, and away from bugs. pretty easy.

my friend warned that polyurethane will turn the skull yellow and could flake off over time.
