Scouting!!!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-21-05 AT 05:34PM (MST)[p]I went scouting in North Central WA.on Saturday and all the Bull's were still in Full Velvet. I did not hear one Bugle!!! I seen around 85 Elk total.And picked out my tree for my new Summitt Viper X5 Treestand that will be here on Wednesday!!!Any one else? Good Luck

It will be an Ambush between Feeding and Bedding!!!I'm sitting on the East side of a North and South Trail.On the Top of the ridge(about 23 Yard shot!!!)The Mourning Sun will be on my back and the wind in my face!!!Good Luck

Are the elk late rubbing this year? I hauled a tree stand up to my usual spot here in Utah and didn't find any sign what-so-ever and drug it all the way back down with me thinking of another place. Now I'm starting to wonder if the rut is going later this year than the last few. Most folks have said they think they will be back up there, but I have my reservations.

What's your guys take?

I saw a nice 6X6 near the Anthro unit over the weekend that was hard horned.

c3, the area I hunt doesn't hold many bulls prior to the season. They typically show up during the rut looking for the ladies!!!!! I have bow hunted the area for several years though and I practically live up there for the entire archery season.
