I was wondering what you guys with these cameras usually have your quality settings at?

I have been using mine set at SHQ,then I decided to take a few pics with all the settings to see if I could tell the difference.I could not tell the diference between them.I was wondering about this cause I could put alot more pics on my memory card with the HQ instead of the SHQ.If there's not enuff difference I will use HQ because with my 128mb card I can take like 247 pics.

Have you guys noticed much difference?

I dont think you will be able to tell the difference if you are just going to look at them on the computer. I think you will see a difference if you were going to print them out.

You guys are making me feel extremely naive in the photo world. I thought I was making progress when I bought a new camera that auto-loads the film and all I have to do is point and shoot. :) I have a long way to go I guess. But if I ever find out what a 128mb card is, I'll try and help. :)

I always use mine on just HQ and the photos seem just fine. I have compared the two different settings on the computer but I can't say I have compared print outs. On the computer I can't tell the difference. The photos I have printed which were shot in HQ seem to be quite good as well. I will have to try and take two photos of the same thing on each mode then print them to see if there is any noticeable difference.

Thanks for the help guys.

Saskman, I think I will try and print 2 diferent setting also to see what the difference is.

BOHNTR, A year ago I knew nothing about digital camera's,know I am hooked on them. It's awesome to be able to look at the picture as soon as you take it.I remember when I would try some photography with a 35 mm I would maybe get 5-10 pictures that looked good on a whole roll of film.Give one a try you will love it!

I also use the HQ. I couldn't tell the difference between HQ and SHQ when looking at them on computers.
