Draw Stats

I'm putting in for several out of state hunts this coming fall and would like to know some draw statistics for archery and pick some brains out there. I'm putting in for some tough draws, and I know the chances are slim on some but would like to hear what you guys have to say about them. All of these will be archery elk also. So I'll start:

Utah: AR301
New Mexico: 1. Unit 16 a or b 2. Unit 15 3. Unit 53
Arizona: 1. Unit 6a 2. Unit 1

I'm trying to balance what I think I can draw and what is highly unlikely with both my elk and deer tags. I'm having trouble finding draw stats on these hunts so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You had better change plans for the AR301. I would bet it will cease to exist next year. If you want more info check out the Bowsite under the Utah forum they have quite a thread going on about the changes proposed.

This is a critical year for bowhunting elk here in Utah. The DWR is working on it's new 5 year plan. That plan is to get rid of the AR301 hunt.

I would suggest that you send a letter to all the RAC and Wildlife Board members on this page. Explain how there is virtually no nonresident archery hunting opportunity in the state of Utah and you'd like to see this hunt available. "How can I spend my money in Utah if you won't let and non-residents hunt there?".

These members read this stuff. Their meetings to vote on these issues are in the next month or so.

If the AR301 is to be saved it needs a massive mail in campaign. These folks need to be overwhelmed with support for it or it is going away.

Here's where to find the addresses to email to:

RAC members:

Wildlife Board Members:

Cheers,
Pete
