Spent the three day weekend in so east Id and it was quiet. It was 80+ degrees and there was zero elk talking. Looks like I'll wait til the 17th to go back. Russ

Silent in both 66 and 66A for my friends. Heard a couple where I was in 43. My hunting partner was over the line in Wy and heard a few around 8000', but it was still too hot there also.

We ran into a few in western WY and they were well herded up and screaming to high heaven. Morning only, not a peep in the evening or even during the night.

I spent the weekend in unit #7 & very little talking going on compared to last year @ this time. Heard bulls every morning but not for long; looks like this upcoming weekend we could be in for some big weather changes for N. Idaho.

hunted the first four days of the opener heard bulls every day but not very agressive. we did call in a spike my dad shot the first day but no luck on the rest.

We spent the opening week up in S. E. Idaho. We heard and watched about 20 different bulls screeming, grunting, making all sorts of sounds and sparring. They were all in one canyon. It took us 4 days to find them, but they were there. One bull would have gone 340" to 350". There were about 9 or 10 smaller 5 and 6 point bulls and the rest were spikes, 2 point, and 4 point bulls. It is awesome to see elk behaving like elk. I'm already looking forward to next year.
