Washington Elk

O.K guys and girls. The first weekend of Washington Archery Elk is behind us. Did anyone have any luck? Lets hear it.

Was down in Yakima this week end. Saw couple of cows. Talked to guy who saw 2 spikes and a 3 x 3. Woke up on Saturday morning to 2" of snow and didn't pack warm enough clothes for my 2 year old son, so we left. Was a bad weekend all and all.

Sorry to hear that. Hope for the best and get back out there. A bud of mine should be coming back from the Cougar area soon. His group normally gets a couple each year.

Hunted Naneum 328-poor hunting, saw lots of cow elk, and 1 spike bull. On 9/2 a friend shot the only spike taken in our camp.

I went bowhunting for the first time ever this past weekend. Did not see an animal, only tracks and sign in the AM through afternoon. Evening was MUCH better! Didn't see 'em but had at least one if not two bulls in near vicinity ( for 1.5 hrs of nonstop bugling, chuckling grunting breaking brush up )and by the end there was even some cow calls coming at me. Don't really know how many there was, don't really care, all I know is there had to be at least one legal bull and it was the coolest experience. Now I just have to go back find 'em again and finish the Deal!!! By the way this was in a peninsula area. Steep and thick! I'd of swore the elk were going to charge through the brush any second for about 1 hr or so. Anyway...I loved it!!!
