WOW that is some very impressive head gear. Thanks for posting the pics does anyone know any background on the bull or the hunt.

This looks like Kevin Reid from Albuquerque. I had heard he had shot a bull that will be the new world record with a rumored score at 502. I'm not sure, but this sure looks like a lot of inches. I saw another one that he had taken and it was not 502 but sure looked in 400 range. I think that it did come from Idaho. Jim

That would be a dink in Oregon....hehe

Sure makes my day to see such quality bulls taken!

That Bull sure is impressive, would like to know as well. Where is D13er, give us your opinion. Sure is dark antlers too.

Holy Crap! Am I dreaming!!? Thanks for sharing, would like some more details if anybody has any credible ones.
Is the G-2 on the right side broke or is it a odd camera angle and shadow?
Jeff

Do the math on this one. This thing is no doubt in the high 400's just by guessing some measurements. Unbelievable......

I do believe that is Kevin Reid from NM. I heard he took two bulls. One over 500" and the other in the 440" range.

Don't know where the bull is from, but I can almost guarantee you it isn't from Idaho. Idaho just flat out can't grow bulls like that. Idaho's a great elk state for numbers but has only ever had seven bulls in its HISTORY that went 400, and all very low end 400. That bull in the picture is a whopper.

Wow, that bull is unreal....I am doubting 502 tough, BUT...there's just no scale for the pic with him sitting so far back! Definitely mid 400's though.

Wow.

Hey this is a nice Bull, I am not sure what is going on in Idaho
but I was getting fuel in Brigham City, UT on Saturday Sept 24th
and I saw a truck pull in with New Mexico plates. The back was covered with a tarp and skyrocketing out of the tarp was an incredible 3rd tine. I asked the guy if I could see his bull and after a little hesitation he uncovered this monster bull. He says he killed it in Idaho with his bow on Sept 22 and had it scored at 502. This picture is not the same bull or does it look like the same guy. What the heck is going on in Idaho? Is there a game farm that bulls are getting loose or what. I have some pictures on my cell phone of this bull.

Hmmm, I re-evaluated....even though its hard to tell length, he actually could gross that high, I left the spread out!!!!!

I would like to send some pictures but they are more than 100kbytes is ther any way to send these?

Will be great to here the story....

Lets take some length guesses..

I'll say mains are 55+
1's are in the 18+ range, but could be bigger.
2's about the same, maybe 20 inches.
3rds not so impressive....14????
4ths, nice, but not crazy huge, 23"?
5ths....OH YEAH! at least 23", maybe 25 (same with 4ths you know!)
6ths!!!!!!!!!!! 18inces!
7th.....8 inches.
Spread probably at least 44" and mass of say....60 inches to be safe.

That makes 454 gross. If i'm 10% off, he could go 409-499!!!
10% would be easy to be off, and I'm likely on the conservative side. Anyhow....Just spewing about the awesomeness of this bull!

No matter what he scores, that thing is a H O G ! We need some details.

Keep the Sun at Your Back and the Wind in Your Face

No disrepect intended I would say he can walk on water if he killed those two elk in the same year. That is one hell of a feat. Congrats to the hunter on this fine bull and the other one as well. This bull will make a magnificent trophy and I'm sure the other little guy will get his fair share of the attention as well if that pans out as well! This guy should have bought a few lottery tickets!! The stars were aligned for him!! Great job!!

dlelk1,

Your photos are every bit as impressive. We have got to get them
posted on here. Two awesome Idaho bulls it appears.

Someone please help dlelk1 out & post his photos for him.

Thanks,

HH

When I saw this thing, at first I thought it was a hoax b/c it was so unfrickenbelievably ginormous!! The bulls this year have lived up to the hype and then some. Great bull!

I just recieved pics of the other bull that this guy killed. It says that it scores 509 and 2/8. Its a monster.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-03-05 AT 07:48PM (MST)[p]we really need the story on this one!!! if that bull isnt off a ranch that would be unfreakin beliveable!!!!! i could belive the first pic but the second one at 502!!!!! we need info!!! and the guy in the first pic looks pretty much like the guy in the second pic just he dosnt have a hat on, same smile and everything
Muley Man!

LAST EDITED ON Oct-03-05 AT 08:17PM (MST)[p]The guy in the first pick is Kevin Reid who killed both bulls. The guy in the pic with the second bull is Butch Amlong, Mr. Reid's hunting partner. And with the reputation of these two, I would almost garantee that this bull is a ligitimate, fair chase bull. Look out record books!!!

Wow! If that came out of Idaho (fairchase) I'll be one shocked SOB! That's my dream bull! Could Idaho be the next best TROPHY elk state-hahahahaha just kidding.

I had received an email with the top pic and it stated that the bull was from a high fence ranch in Idaho. I will see if I still have the email. I dont know if this is true or not, just relaying info I have been sent.

Huntsenora,
I heard the same thing from a reliable source last night. He said both came from the same place.

You know, I also garanteed that the Cowboys would be the Raiders this weekend, so now we know how good my garantees are.:).

"These photos are going to hurt you.. We all four scored big elk. Kevin's is with a bow and might be #1 in the world. (SCI score 447)"

This was text straight from the e-mail. You just had to read through it. Mixed weapon seasons? I doubt it. The other picture with the e-mail I got had a big 6 and the top 75% of his antlers still had velvet on them. It reaks of a high fence hunt.

yehttp://www.monstermuleys.info/dcforum/User_files/4342a73f3cfbd511t another picture

I believe those bulls came from Thunder Mountain game ranch over by Soda Springs. They have alot of bulls that score over 400" on their ranch. If it the same group of guys they killed 4 bulls with the smallest one coming in around that 440" mark

ok... i am not computer savy..kilowatt... you still hang out around here??? i need somebody to post please

the plot thickins this is the same bull I took pictures of in Brigham City, and yes you are right, its not the same guy. Is my theroy right are the fences down on Thunder Mountain Elk Ranch or what
