LAST EDITED ON Oct-03-05 AT 11:19AM (MST)[p]I just wanted to publicly thank Robb and wife Peggy for inviting me along on her bull hunt. It was truly a once-of-a-lifetime experience! We ended up screaming 4-miles in less than 2 hours to get ahead of some horse hunters, and it paid off in a big way- we found ourselves in the middle of bulls screaming their heads off. I have never, ever, seen that many bulls in one place all voicing their opinion. Not only could we see them, but we could stalk right toward each bugle and actually see the bull making it. Prism, you really missed out on some good video, and boy was I kicking myself for leaving the 35mm in the truck to save weight.
Let me tell ya, I think I'm getting pretty good at judging elk, but I agree with what everyone else has said on these forums-put a bunch of bulls together and it becomes darn hard to tell the difference!!
And I admit that I started to cry watching Peg's bull go bouncing through the trees on the back of a packhorse...it's one of those little pictures I've often dreamed about, and not seen until Saturday.
As for the bull, well, that's Peg's story if she wants to tell it!! All I will say is that my heel blisters from the 10.82 miles hike are healing nicely...
Thanks Robb, again, for a fantastic experience. Good luck in G, I hope you get a bruiser.
