Did you get the tag you wanted?

Did everyone get the tag you were hoping for? My wife drew an elk tag. Should be a fun hunt. Maybe we'll get lucky and find a big 6x6. I haven't seen any results for myself or my son for deer. I'm pretty sure my boy drew though. So I should have plenty of hunts for the fall.

Yahoo! Yes I did!
In know I didn't draw my first choice and really wasn?t expecting to anyway, but called my Cabelas card and there is a pending charge so drew a second choice muzzy deer tag and will be chasing deer above treeline in gods country again. Hoping to score on one of the three bucks I chased last year. And next year I will be hunting them with a highpower rifle in the early season. I can't wait.

A velvet buck is still on my bucket list. Hoping this is the year!

Perhaps Wyoming would like my money as it seems my home state is a big goose egg for tags this year.

saddling up anyway."

Went from drawing nothing last year to drawing too many tags this year! Between my wife son and i, we have two trophy bull tags, a cow tag, a good buck tag, and a sheep tag, so far! Will draw two bear tags and a real good chance at 2 trophy antelope tags in Wyoming! Going to have to turn back some tags for the first time ever!

So far yes Colorado 201 Archery Elk and Utah Pausagaunt muzzy deer but I've been in the game for a long time 26 points Co. elk!

I am going to be spending a lot of time in unit 44 this year looking for bucks. If anyone would like to join in or have info to share your more than welcome And much appreciated. First scouting trip will be the first week in July

Yep. We'll be deer hunting in Colorado this year.

Yep! At least my wife did. I'm the spotter and sherpa on this hunt. This will be our first trip to CO. 33 3rd season (2nd choice). Can't wait to explore a new part of the west.

I got a license, but not the one I want. I'll hunt a marginal muzz hunt. But I won't likely ever get the CO license I really want. Too old and no points.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-06-18 AT 09:37AM (MST)[p]Unit 66 3rd season for me! Had a scare for a moment when I got an email saying my cc was out of date. Then 2 minutes I got a second email confirming the purchase.

201 buck tag (20pp)!! Already a win since I was fishing around on the web while waiting and waiting and waiting for results, and I have now discovered this great site.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-06-18 AT 05:38PM (MST)[p]Pulled a unit 33 2nd season tag as a second choice, so it looks like I'll be hunting Colorado again this fall.

Thats a hell of alot of points to blow on a 201 deer tag...

Maybe so. I'll find out in October. A lot of guys blowing points up there.

Took 20 to guarantee a tag. Only 1 out of 4 NR drew at 19 pts for 2nd rifle. Took 20 to draw 3rd rifle and only 1 out of 5 got that. Took 23 to draw 4th.

Residents needed, 11, 14, 18 respectively.

Lucky this time for Colorado elk unit 61-- drew 1st rifle (not the early rifle), plus my son in law drew the 2 nd rifle elk 61 (9 day season), so now the recon/scouting search for information begins. Neither of us has ever been to the unit, only talked to some hunters who have hunted it.

Some of you must have hunted it last couple of years & any /all information would help & be greatly appreciated to assist us getting going on this unit. Please give me a Text, call, or E Mail on 61 elk. I will put it to good use ! We will never get these tags again, unless we turn them back in if it does not look good for trophies this year. Or the weather, which we heard was very tough last year. I used 13 points, my son in law used 10 points.

I'm 70 so no kid anymore, my son in law is 42, I plan to line up,a horse retrieve of elk if we score.
One very big question-- Do we really need a good Guide to assist us ? My plan is to hunt the mid & southern areas instead of the northern areas where the thick oak brush is a problem, so I've been told. Any one have recommendations on the guides they have used in the past & what /who would you recommend ? My hunt is only 5 days, son in laws is 9 days.

Thanks a lot in advance ! E Mail is preferred-- much faster for me anyway.

I drew my second choice deer tag. I would have liked my first choice but I'm pretty happy to have it. It's the only tag I have for this fall and the draws are nearly over.

I was hoping for an archery sheep tag, didn't get it. But I did get a moose tag, which was actually harder to draw. So I'm pretty happy!
