does anyone actually have in the field examples of using interlocks on elk. I'm thinking of using 162 grain out of my 7 mag for elk what do ya think!!!!
I used them on elk and still do when i use my 7MM. They work very well for me. They have performed very well and held up well. I have now gone to the 300 Win. Mag. for elk but certainly did like my 7 and the hornady interlocks.
I loaded some for a friend last year and he took a nice 5 pt bull with one shot. About 100yds, broadside, broke the on shoulder, exited through the ribs....went bout 40 yds, died dead. He also killed a cow moose last weekend with a single neck shot. So, yeah, they work.
I'm a fellow 7mm Mag shooter myself. Even though I'm a huge Hornady fan, I would recommend the Nosler Accubonds in the 160gr bullet for Elk. I wish Hornady made a 162 gr Interbond.
