I went with my friend and his dad on the archery hunt. I was doing the calling. I saw a lot of 6x6 and bigger in the back of trucks, all of which would score more than 300 inches. My friend missed a 350-ish bull on the second day of the hunt at 20 yards and missed a 330-ish bull at 50 yards the following day. The bulls were going crazy the first week of the hunt. The second weekend of the hunt, I called in a bull that may have been 400-ish. Another hunter we talked to says it was bigger but I cannot score very well. I can tell you that it was the biggest 6x6 I have ever seen, with thick bases and huge royals. I saw him at 50 yard for several minutes. I was on top of the banks and the hunters were down below in a meadow with four bulls fighting and the big bull bugling trying to keep the other bulls away. The bull did not come staight at the calls, towards the hunters. He went up the bank to me and around the hunters, so I was the only to that would have had a shot. By the way soft calls were the only thing that the bulls would respond to that late into the hunt. I would have to say that this was the best year for antlers I have seen in the area we hunt for about 7 years.
