Family member had a 5BS Melatone Mesa Cow tag last weekend,
actually it ends today Oct 19 I think.

What a cluster @^^%% Never saw so many hunters on a hunt before.

Saw some Elk 30 mins after daylight when the shooting started opening morning.

One herd running hard half mile away.

Then we glassed up about five other hunters,

And of course any faint trail had quads running up and down.

180 tags, atleast 500 people in camps driving around "helping" friends.

What a mess.

Wish G&F would split that hunt into two hunts say 90 people per hunt or something.

Anyway, all you NR's put in for 5BS in AZ you can have my tag.

Ususally the cow hunts that are nearby Flagstaff attract more road hunters. Try out some of the easier draw hunts that's farther away from Flagstaff and you'll find less hunters. Unit 9 is pretty good draw/success and 7E is a fun cow unit with the wilderness...nobody is ever in the wilderness section. I've seen cow hunts out in unit 5B and it's a mess, I am still in disbelief how many roads are out there and how many roads are "created" during hunts

I was able to tag out in 7E, posted pics on the other room, but here it is! The secret is find spots where people won't go on foot

ALL good advice.

I will definetly put the daughter in for an area with less rds next year..

I like the smile on the happy hunters face, thats what its all about.
