I went out this weekend to go do some shed huntin for elk and when i went to my spot i was surprised to see about 10 people walking it with arm loads of elk antler. one of the guys i talked to said he and his son found 12 complete sets of elk antlers between friday and saturday. I was fortunate enough to see their haul and was surprised that what he had was nothing smaller than a 6 point and the largest set was a huge 7x7 guess i will be looking for a new area see if i can find some tine

That would make me sick, knowing that I was just a little too late. Next year you will just have to make sure you get there first. Last year I had watched a coulee with at least thirty bucks in it. I was checking it every couple of days to see if the deer were dropping. I never saw anyone else in the area. I checked on a Wednesday and they were dropping so I thought I would come back on Friday ( there were still no tracks in the area). When I got there on Friday someone had covered every square inch of the area and scooped all of the sheds already. That was a real let down. Good luck with locating a new spot, hopefully you can scoop up some good ones.

that kind of day could make a guy want to give it up forever, but don't give up! i've found that if i leave my best spots alone for more than one year, someone else discovers them and that means competition for years to come, so don't blow off your honeyholes too soon.

next year those bulls may winter a couple miles away from where they were this year and you'll be the one to find their sheds!
