LAST EDITED ON Nov-04-05 AT 09:33PM (MST)[p]Here?s a photo from my elk hunt this year?the story goes like this.

First thing in the morning, opening day, I decided to pass on a couple of spikes. Then around noon this bull walked to within 30 yards of me. My first shot was to his shoulder, quartering forward and it rocked him. He went down on his knee, but got right back up. At that point he turned and lunged downhill only to get about three steps before I quickly got two more good hits on him. He slid to a stop less than 20 yards from me.

I took me three days to pack him out on my back, and while I was sore from head to toe, I can't stop replaying those events over and over in my head...what a day.

Great bull and great story. That is one of the best pictures I've seen. I know the soreness you're talking about. There's nothing like when you get to the truck with that last load of meat.
Congrats again.

Wow, congratulations fairchase. That is a beautiful bull. I'm guessing over 370. Way to go.

Great Bull and great picture. You should be proud!

What caliber gun and what bullet did you use? Did the bullets exit the far side?

LAST EDITED ON Nov-07-05 AT 06:28AM (MST)[p]Thanks guys,
Its an OTC Idaho bull, from an area I have been hunting for over 10 years. This the third chance I've had at a mature bull and the first that has gone right :)
