Has anyone heard of any good bulls coming off of monroe this year? I just got word from a guy that lives in richfeild and he said that there was just a 400" bull with double swords poached over by the sand ledges. Does anyone know anymore about what went on with that bull?

Gal I work with killed a 370" bull on the rifle hunt. Saw pictures of another 370" bull from the Archery Hunt.

Both were really nice bulls.

I hope that the double sworded 400 class bull didn't poached. Know of any pics? I hunted that monster this year during the archery hunt and had him a 5 yds. Of course, I was pegged and couldn't draw. He might even had a scar from an arrow of mine that skimmed his belly. Dang turkey! Anyway, curious if this is him or not. Another family member has the late season rifle tag and is down there hoping to find him. He's an awesome bull and it would be sad if he was poached!

There were some great bulls taken, but considering what was up there this (antler growth was amazing), I'm surprised I haven't seen more big ol' boys. I chased an 8x9, the big ol' boy above and two other 7's in the 360-380 class. It was an amazing year up there. I know of one of the bulls I chased that got killed. He was a double sworded 7 (8x8), but wasn't 400 and was a smaller version of the horse you mentioned. With the quality of bulls, I think most people were popping 340-350 bulls since they were everywhere, filling their tags and going home. It still amazes me what people do or don't do with these great tags like Monroe, San Juan, Pahvant, etc. Oh well, more big bulls for us.

Update-

The bull poached is not the bull I was chasing. My family member did fill his tag with a great 7x7. Yes, later that next day, they ran into the big ol' boy. Bad luck, but he's still happy with his bull and he's a good one.

They didn't have trouble finding elk, but alot of bulls were banged up - as expected. Sounds like the late hunt is probably no different than the rest. Don't know how it will go on other units. Curious to see what people think of it.

I went with a friend on a muzzle-loader, back when the dates were late, & it was a tough hunt. You still can find them, they are just not silly like they are earlier.
