Oh sad, I hope these guys are ok. This is crazy on so many levels, hopefully they found so many they cant lift off, they are trying to decide which ones to leave.

Maybe someone shot them down? Id imagine if they flew over some one and picked up a bone in front of them that might really piss someone off?

I can't believe anyone would leave a post like that. 2 great guys flying into an area that is inaccessible by walking, Wow!! There is 2 ways to get into area boat or flying. Whats wrong with flying into an area like that? I for one am praying for 2 good friends and hope they are okay. I can't imagine that anyone would wish people harm who were out enjoying a day breaking no laws. DISGUSTING!!

No one wishes harm I just said I dont care if they crashed... yep keep looking for shortcuts y'all.. The point is to be out in nature and how the hell is a helicopter part of nature? Do you think the elk gods will smile on you? Spooking pregnant cows while you buzz them to feed your horn greed?

Just because you have a certain way that you like to hunt sheds does not make it the only way to hunt. To fly into an area and land a helecopter to walk and look for horns is fine. We all have our ways of doing things and just because it is not your way, does not mean it is not right. Your wishing harm on 2 great guys and their families just because you do not agree with what they were doing, When it is legal? We are in trouble if this is what humanity has come too.

You better start hoofing it from your own house to wherever you hunt before you wish harm on someone flying in to remote wilderness to freaking look for stupid sheds.

I would not fly a chopper in to look for sheds, but thats me. But I wish no harm on guys that do.

I was going to delete the insensitive, crappy comments, but it won't change anything. It's a sad deal what happened to those guys, and it's sad that some people are so damn insensitive and post those comments above.

I wish the families and friends of these guys the best. Albert was a good friend of my buddy, and I heard only good things about him.

Please be decent. Two people died. Posts within a thread about their accident shouldn't be judging them. That's just pathetic and wrong.

You're fine not to agree with shed hunting from the air, but my hell, have some class in this thread!!!!

Sad yes... sucks for the families yes. Its dangerous as hell to take off and land repeatedly in the cliff riddled terrain to pick up antlers. MM is full of people that interpret however they want and put words in mouths. Condolences to the families. To the judgmental back patters on here. I still don't care. i didnt know them and they made the decision to risk their lives themselves. I have had a lot of friends die in the mtns doing stupid stuff so maybe I am desensitized to people dying from poor decision making.

However I am entitled to say what Id like about helicopter shed hunting. Ill just save until yall arent so upset about the loss of life. Me Im used to it...

You are a sick man sir. These guys may have been shed hunting the lazy man's way, but it's not illegal and they did nothing wrong. They surely didn't deserve to die.

There are old pilots and bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots. Agressively hunting for sheds in mountainous terrain would be "bold" by about anyones definition. Hell I get mangled and my feet never leave the ground... except for those brief moments right before the excruciating pain begins. I strongly doubt if this was profit motivated, more likely redneck fun gone terribly wrong.
 
Founder, I am frequent visitor to the site but don't get around to posting too often. I couldn't help myself today, you gotta get rid of the Lvntrks guy. Brings nothing good to the table, ever. And now has stooped even lower than his norm. Seriously, you would be doing us MM regular guys all a favor.

Sure we all have our disagreements but the name calling and constant BS is not becoming a very inviting attribute to your site.

On a serious note, prayers to the those who were killed as well as their families. I would never wish such harm on anyone. Especially a fellow sportsman.

Man when you read this its shocking, I never ever get involved in the drama on this site because it drives me nuts, but this statement is so sad in so many ways I cant help to call it out "love of many will wax cold" I don't care what your reasons are of not caring, if I were you I would totally drop this conversation.

I sure wont apologize to you... Be careful who you call sportsman. Utah seems to be home to less and less of them.

I was the one who reported this thread and asked you to delete the inappropriate comments. You have a litlle note at the top of the page asking for our help to make this site better. We do just that and you choose to sit on your hands and do nothing? seriously? It is your site, but I know I can speak for a ton of old regulars here that you are seriously are dropping the ball with your site. Stuff like what is posted in this thread is all too common on here and to see you do nothing just sends the message that it is okay. It is sad because at one time this site was a top-notch site. Sorry to see it go down the drain like it is.
 
As for the accident, my heart goes out to the family of those involved. I have spent countless hours over the years in a helicopter for my work. I have seen tuff conditions with some amazing flying to make it out. I know how easily things can go bad. My thoughts and prayers to those left behind.
 
Why get all worked up about it when the full story isn't out. Just because they said they were shed hunting that could mean they were flying to a place then going for a hike or maybe they were shed hunting from the chopper doing catch and release. Prayers out to the family. You know I don't people that shoot elk/deer at 1300 yards or high fence hunting but a hundred guys equals a hundred ways. We all have our ways. For the guys that bust their butts, good for them. For the guy that wants to road hunt or do a high fence then whatever its not my style.

If the guys were chasing animals with the helicopter then that's crazy but they don't deserve to die. I just watched the game and fish chase hundreds of prego cow elk for miles for some unknown reason. I don't wish on them to die but I was frustrated about it.
 
Tragic event I don't think I'd wanna try it from a chopper wind is too unpredictable this time of year.

So you are against the April 15th closure? So obviously you like to get out before April 15th to shed hunt right? So what's the difference between you chasing the animals around on the ground and the helicopter above them in the air? You criticize these guys that were out shed hunting when you have been out there yourself doing the same thing. They deserve to die for doing the same thing you are doing?

I think you realize you put you foot in your mouth, but you are to big of an AH to man up and apologize. Instead you want to take the Bad A$$ approach and follow through with your statement.

I've known Robin Venuti and His whole family for many years, used to actually work for Robin , and His Brother Ben .... great great people , and Robin will be greatly missed by many that knew Him . Regarding all the negative comments , wow ... just goes to show your True Nature ... thats all I have to say about that .
 
Guys luvnbrokebackmountain must be a troll, just going to have to ignore him, I just looked at the post with the big non typical single and he is on there ripping on the guy for no reason! He must be a tree hugger planted on here, how else do you have that kind of energy just going around stirring the pot? Either that or else the poor kid got beat bad by his old man or something and now is in one sorry state of mind, can't get away from him so gonna have to ignore him, usually if you don't respond to them they get bored and quit, I hope we do that instead.

I think the rudeness comes with the territory of growing. I remember when this site was just some of us good ol boys telling stories and helping eachother out. still is, to some degree, but a lot of hate and discontent flows around. I stopped posting pictures of proudful moments when i was accused of shooting a cow elk with a rifle during archery season because there was too much blood.

I still browse for information and the like, but I dont commit much to it, any longer.

That said, I have much respect for the founder. Has done a good job with the site since its modest beginnings. Need a better way to keep the peckerwoods out.
