Got Home from Work a couple Days ago & Noticed My little Shed Pile had been Tampered with!

Didn't think too much of it at first!

But on Closer Inspection!

I notice a Shed is Missing!

On Closer inspection I notice it's one of the Smaller Raghorn Sheds that is missing!

So I gathered them up & put them away!

Must not of been a Real Shed Thief?

Or all of them woulda been gone!

Somebody just need/take one for a Knife Handle?

Or What?

Not a big Deal!

If they'd have Asked?

I'd of just Gave them one!

Was thinking about Posting a Reward!

But for a PISSCUTTER Shed?

I'm a Thinking whoever took it didn't think I'd Notice!

Well since the utards come into Wyoming and push the deer and then we get punished with laws and ruin everything in Utah they turn into shed hunting in peoples lawns. Must be all the in-breed blood.

Man that is the best post I've seen in a while. I literally signed up just to post a response saying, "amen brother".

I'm in CO and didn't know how bad it really was until this year. I'm an avid shed hunter but I mostly just help friends on their animal hunts and get some free meat that way.

Anyway there's a spot near here where a few of us go, it's pretty well known, but plenty big for everyone (mostly). A few of us, or at least our vehicles, you'll see there all year. I'm not too territorial, I have my "secret pockets" and like I said enough for everyone, I wish everyone a little luck.

Well this year an encampment of trailers from Utah set up shop in early March and just pulled out about a week ago. They moved in early, pushed the animals all over and cleaned out anywhere but the really tough spots. Anywhere you might want to go for a quick 1/2 day outing or places you'd take a kid or the family for a fun day, forget it. CLEANED OUT. Just up there everyday for damn near two months (moving their camp every 14 days or whatever) same ATVs, trailers, 5ht wheels etc. with different cars from time to time. Others around here will know exactly what I'm talking about.

I was telling my friend who does a lot of hunting about it and he said, "yep, that's Utah hunters for you, same thing with animals, they don't care they'll just move in and ruin an area"...

And I don't mean to paint a broad picture like that, but the more I listen the more I hear that same opinion. I'm sure it's some bad apples but I'll tell you, Utah hunters have a bad name around here right now and sounds like WYO also. The responsible ones should get the word out and let their friends know.

I'll stop ranting now.

Getting to be something here Guys!

Can't believe what a TARD will do for some Tine!

They've kept Game around here pushed clear to the Snow Line all Spring!

If you think the Utards are the only problem, read the Fish and Game news. WY residents busted left and right picking up sheds early. Locals riding sleds and atvs right out of town with a who cares attitude for animals or laws. Yesterday A Utah plated truck parked on the side of a road had its window smashed and contents stolen. Idiots from WY have a "its my land" your trespassing attitude for out of staters and feel its their right to destroy someones property. Every state has bad eggs, and good ones. If you or your friends saw guys pushing animals and didn't report it, you are part of the problem. And if you think the Utards are the reason for the shed law because a few guya from Utah got caught pushing deer, you're ignoring the dozens of WYIDIOTS that do it over and over.

Yelum

Theres logic, and theres women. They don't go together.

I'm sorry you lost a shed, hope you turn it up. As for the Utah haters, quit being so SELFISH. SELFISH people are the problem not the state line. I'm not sayin... I'm just sayin!

Out of that whole rant the only thing that the "Utah hunter" did wrong was "push the animals around". Which no one saw? I am also confused as it sounded like he and others were hunting sheds in the same area at the same time, but only the Utah hunters were pushing animals? Sounds more like someone was jealous that his spot had been found and he didn't like the thought they stuck around for so long.
Didn't write "pushed the animals" in all caps, just "CLEANED OUT". Pretty obvious what you are really upset about.

Doesnt wyomings season start may 1st. I just looked through the shed contest pics and there was some nice wyoming sheds dated in march of this year. Check em out for yourself

Geez. Not hard to keep track of antlers in the shed pile when there's only 1 crusty in whole "pile". Bring your quad up to southern Idaho , an we'll work on your pile. I'll teach you why 35 miles on your a$$ is better then 12 on your feet.
Just kiddin of course!

The ONLY thing he did wrong was push the animals? ... Isn't that enough?
Yeah I was there, like I said I'm there all year. In early March I'm scouting, glassing, not deep in their winter bedding areas driving the animals out.

Mad, jealous? Yeah, I guess so. And if a group came from out of state with no regards to ethical practices and set up what is basically a commercial operation in your backyard I think you might be a little put out too.

The fact that you see nothing wrong with it tells me exactly who I'm dealing with - no clue.

I'll find my normal amount regardless because I intentionally look where 99% won't (including these idiots), but it still pisses you off when you see this kind of thing.

I'm just pointing out (and I'm not alone here obviously) that Utah hunters have a certain reputation and every year it gets more and more reinforced. Take it for what it's worth I guess.

Set some leg hold traps, the criminal always returns back. Or call the cops so they can sit in front of your house all day. just get them a box of donuts and they will help

LAST EDITED ON May-04-14 AT 09:11PM (MST)[p]Hatchet jack. I know about the same camp of guys you speak of. They took a once peaceful area to shed hunt and completely destroyed it! They chased all the elk and deer to hell and back ran them completely out before they shed. Cut and tore down fences, trespassed, gridded off road with 4 wheelers and side by sides. I talked to the local game and fish and blm and they are now considering an antler season. So once again utahns have F'ed it up for the rest of us and got a shed season put in place first Wyoming then Nevada and now Colorado!
I'm originally from western wyoming so i know first what happens when the unethical Utah shed hunters start moving in. you think its bad now wait tell you have a shed season. there won't just be one huge camp of utahns hunting sheds for weeks there will be more than you can count and your sport and favorite spots will be forever ruined. My advice ,you and the locals need to join up and run these guys out, don't do anything illegal just get creative ! I have a few tricks up my sleeves for next year. I'm not going to have another one of my spots destroyed by this Utah mentality that not all but A LOT of Utah antler hunters have.

hear that elkassassin, and them Colorado boys don't even know about your drone , Waite till they see pretty bird.

Set up a trail cam over your shed pile. Maybe it was a 4 legged thief. Neighbors dog?

I love the whole Utah bashing thing, I don't have any bad experiences with out of state shed hunters, but I don't really shed hunt that often. I do have bad hunting experiences from both guys from Colorado and Wyoming though.

On the general rifle hunt a few years back I was sitting on a ridge as it was starting to get light. A group a little ways down the mountain missed a small three point and he ended up running about 20 yards in front of me. There was another group down the mountain from me so I was waiting for him to move off to the side a little more so I could make a clean shot when a shot rang out and the buck dropped where he was, right in between me and the group below. They came up all excited that they had got their deer. When I walked up to them, I was fuming. The worst part is the guy didn't even think that he had done anything wrong, even after he made it clear that he had seen me there. I went back to hunting the next canyon over, but when I made it back to my truck they were there loading the deer into their truck with Colorado plates.

I still remember a camp that was a little ways down the road from us on a hunt from when I was quite a bit younger. They left beer cans everywhere, a folding chair in the fire pit, and rode four wheelers, what seemed like to me, all the time day and night. They were from Wyoming.

The point is that there are a$sholes from every state. Trying to profile any one state in particular is ridiculous.

Hey bigfoot!

I thought about that too!

If it was the Neighbors Dog,He's a PISS POOR Shed Dog!:D

Only reason that makes me think it wasn't a Dog was the Shed Pile was Quite Tampered with, maybe the MUTT is quite Selective?:D

I would say it was definitely taken by someones shed dog.

These poor dogs start their training in a back yard. The owner usually starts them with a donor (pisscutter) antler. No need to ruin the big stuff on training. After a few training sessions these dogs are so excited from the praise they get that it is excruciating for them to sit at home while their owners go to work. They wander the neighborhood backyards selectivly looking for pisscutters. It's all they know.

If anyone would like to send money i'm thinking about starting a foundation to help get these shed dogs out into the field. Your monthly donation of just $100 will provide larger training antlers and gas to get these poor animals to the mountains. You may just save a neighbors antler garden.

sheddogs, I like where your head is at. I'm seriously considering sacrificing a season of shed hunting just to shadow these morons every chance I get. If I got to an early start hopefully it would be enough to get them to give up and go home early.

I would hate to loose that time shed hunting myself but if it helped saved an area I truly love, it would be well worth it.

I really hope they just stay home next year. I mean seriously, all stereotypes aside, isn't there plenty of great spots in Utah anyway?

I'm wondering now if one of them Professional Shed Mutts wandered in from Myton?

They've cleaned House here in the Basin & now they're workin Front Porches!

I thought once I had them on the Porch they were Mine & Safe,WRONG!

Now hold on, there are different degrees of Utardation that needs be understood.

It changes depending on what county/city you grew up in. From my experiences the disease increases in severity as you head further south starting at the Utah county/Provo area. Since those boys can't buy Beer on sundays and they have no pretty women down there they are forced to chase deer and elk and WY and CO have prettier deer and elk then UT does. Plus they have chased all the deer and elk in utah that is why we have no deer and elk. It's not there fault it's a geographical/inbreed problem.

Now us boys near the major cites Ogden/SLC have the least severe cases of Utardation. We are more diversified and understand that WY and CO hates us so we try not to piss them off, but we all know that we can't make everyone happy. We try and throw the locals a bone once in a while and leave at least all the old whites for them to pick up.

But as you head further north (cache county) you get a mix of both. You have good guys that actually help you find sheds and do your preseason scouting for you then pin point where to go. Then you see the most severe cases from there also. Like sticking deer in city limits and claiming a hawk or rabbit must have moved the sheds that are on his back. I will say this, I did see a picture once of a shed as a base to an eagles nest so it could happen.

Frankly I think all shed hunters are retarded.

God I love being RETARDED!!!!

Hatchet_Jack hate to call you out but do you vote in Colorado? If so I sure hope you didn't vote for Obama because if you did your worst then a Utard, we were at least smart enough to vote for the other guy the last two elections!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Smart enough to vote for the other guy, but not smart enough to know the difference between "worst and worse" or "then and than". ...Sorry could't resist. And I won't even go into "your vs you're". Oh, I guess I just did. ...Sorry again.

AND...Are you serious!? When you find a hunter/outdoorsman in Western CO that has voted democrat for anything in the last 20 years please let me know. We have a few tree hugger types here that may vote that way but not many. You don't understand CO politics at all so please don't try, you might strain something. I'm afraid the Obama supporters reside on the other side of the mountain (Denver/Boulder) and a few small mountain town pockets (Aspen, Telluride, etc.). Please check the voting records and results by county if you don't believe me. Not even close.

That's what you call a shot in the dark, ...nice try though. Trying for the politics card, too funny, but pretty sad too.

And for the record, I have not once used the term, "Utard". In my first post I stated that it's probably a case of a few bad apples. I honestly just wanted to (A) echo the sentiments already posted here. And (B) point out that whether you like it or not, agree or disagree, the FACT is there is a strong negative sentiment towards hunters from Utah from many in other states. And I used a personal example to illustrate. Honestly I don't think many in Utah realize this and my hope is that spreading the word may help improve the situation through peer pressure.

I really love the post by bucknducks, that seriously had me laughing, great post. I hope there are more like him there. But posts like this cause me to seriously wonder about the general mental make up. You did yourself and your state no favors with that one. Good laugh though, thanks.

HA, fair enough. Actually if you read through my posts, I'm sure you'll find plenty of typos and misspelling.

I just found it especially funny that while stating how smart he was, his one sentence was so full of errors. It gave me a good laugh.

South NM is to far for those UT guys to drive. :)

Out here the competition comes from the High School kids. Wouldn't have it any other way.

nmpaul. your a lucky man.if it was just high school kids here I would show them where to go!

We take a lot of them. Just got back from an overnight back pack trip with my son. 9 old deer sheds was best we could do. Still fun.

Who could have so few sheds as to even know one was missing?? Your mm handle should be Smaug... the dragon in the "Hobbit" who knows each jewel in hi stash. The "Hobbit"...its a book... big words, no pictures... never mind... but I'm thinking Smaug looked a lot like your drone.

Easy there upside!

If I was relying on making a Living by picking up Sheds & Competing with ASSSSHHOOLLLES I'd of starved to death many Moons ago!
