VV question

in the rules and regs it says that you can have one cow tag and one bull tag for the VV in your life time. if you draw the cow tag then you can only put in for bull the following years until you get a bull tag vice versa, well i was drawn for the youth either sex tag and was wondering if this takes up both my bull and my cow, i thought someone on here would know and if not oh well thanks anyway

I was told that if you draw an archery either sex tag you are done and cannot put in for the cow tag. Rifle may be different.

I agree with Schamlts, once you draw a tag that can be used for a bull you are done for life.

270 win, I believe if you have drawn an either sex tag for the Valle Vidal you are not allowed to apply for any other Valle Vidal tag. I checked the regs. not much there to talk about a youth Either sex tag and if this goes towards the once in a lifetime. You might want to call the NMGF and ask that question.

I heard you killed a nice bull this year up at the Valle Vidal. If you can, could you post some pics? Be nice to check him out. Many on MM have been waiting to see him. Thanks....

You drew the youth tag which is a new deal. I don't believe you can get another youth tag (check to be sure) but it doesn't count against your "adult" or regular once-in-a-lifetime quota.
The same holds true for the youth sheep tag.

270, if your liscense for your hunt in the vv mentions once in a lifetime your done even if it is a youth hunt, congrats again. nmbighorn

270, Grizlyhunter and I both shot nice 6x6's in VV last year. Our pics are late too BTW. I put my daughter in for the youth hunt this year. I was told by G&F that if you draw an either sex youth tag you are done for life.

I drew an archery tag this year in VV.(CC got hit) I had been trying for 6 years. My buddy drew it in 92. He can never draw again right? I thought it was changed last year after a certain date you could re apply? I hope it rains soon! PICS PLEASE>>> I AM GETTING EXCITED!

It depends on the order of how you draw . You can put in and draw a rifle cow tag and then put in for a bull tag for either rifle or muzzle loader or bow . If you do put in for and draw a muzzle loader or bow hunt before ever hunting rifle cow only , then you are now done and can not draw another Valle Vidal elk hunt.
