I don't know if anyone has noticed but the 2006 Utah big game regs are available at their website. It will be interesting to see what happens with this years draw odds. Good luck to everyone in the draws...and the lucky ones that end up with tags!

I laugh at everyone getting excited about the proclamation. I mean, seriously, is there anything there that isn't there the year before? They always have a new picture on the front. Is that the excitement?

The games will officially kick off now like bird says.

The draw odds will suck like always. Everyone thinks they deserve to hunt 400" bulls every year. Mathematically 3 million people trying for 1500 tags does not allow it.

Some people will be lucky. (Or in my case about time.)

We will not know permit numbers until April. I hope someone pulls their head out of their ass before age objectives become a reality. And yes, I will say this after I draw.

People will complain the deer herd sucks, but no one will give up anything. 97,000 people will still want to shoot 40,000 bucks. See the draw odds sucks paragraph.

When we do not draw we can start planning 2007 on April 30th of 2006, start writing the DWR and conservation groups for added opportunity, and waste a whole lot of time here hoping to get sympathy.

It is a vicious cycle folks.

Now ktc,

come on,

get a little happier about the new year and all it may bring ya in 2006.

It is always enjoyable to look at the draw odds by point pool and the amount of tags issue after all.

Before we know it, we could draw the Book Cliffs on the Utah side and go OTC on the colorado side in #21 and maybe get two bulls that together gross 450 P&Y points!!

be happy...ha

ktc,

It is quite the cycle. Kind of reminds me of a soap opera.

But it's fun to watch.

Give me a few more years and I can complain with the rest of you. Once I have enough points to justify a complaint.

Looks like non-residents will take it on the chin this year. A lot of units that had NR tags in past years will not have any NR tags this year. Most of them are the premium units.

I suspect this has something do with all the "SFW tags" that are going to be auctioned. Since most of those will go to NR's, I guess it is only right to take them from the NR pool.

Not a complaint, merely and observation.

I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas and will have a Healthy, Happy, and Prosperous New Year!!!!
