Elk Mane and Head color

It seems that the Real big bulls I see coming out of Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona have lighter colored heads, than the bulls I've seen taken in taken in Idaho, Oregon and Northwest Montana.

Do you think that a 350+ plus bull is gonna have a lighter mane than than a younger 250-300 class bull? Why or why not?

I think it has a lot to do with sunlight. The more sun they get the lighter the color same with the antlers.
