Has anyone ever been drawn and hunted there? What was it like? I finally started playing the lottery for a chance. Thanks for sharring your experience. If your going to dream, than do it big right!

Never hunted it , but have been by there and live fairly close . I also play the lotto there , both for elk and for fly fishing , I've put in for a few dates for all three fly fishing seasons , I hope to get in there one way or another. I know a couple guys that have drawn hunts there , it exciting just to listen to em tell of the hunts....NMHUNTNUTT

OK...not to sound dumb or anything. i know nothing about the area except the elk hunting, there is a drawing for flyfishing there??? explain please...is it for a day's worth of access or something like that??? my curiosity got the best of me.
i am from washington state, so i am not very familiar with the area.

Yeah , its a preserve so only limited fishing under strict control . Only 10 fishermen per day , theres a spring ,summer and fall session , and you can only draw once per session . Its $5.00 per chance and theres no limit to the # of chances for any of the three seasons . My buddy drew last year and said it was awesome , so I hope to draw and wet a line this year , at least once I hope.....NMHUNTNUTT

VC nonresident bow draw odds are over 100 to 1, 150:1 to be more exact from what I have heard, that is LONG odds for a $25 chance.

Hunt is unreal from guys I know who have drawn.

guys i drew one of the bull elk hunts last year. yes the draw odds are horrible but it is a neat place to see even if you do not get to hunt it. i think it would also be good to apply for the youth hunts for those with kids. you will see plenty of elk.

It is a nice place, but I'll stick with 6C. VCNP can keep their elk, I'd like to have their lion and deer. The way it's managed you would think the only critters there are cattle, elk, and trout. No hunting for predators, small game, turkey, or deer. They think they are supporting hunting by letting people shoot the non-native elk.

If you folks draw let me know I can help you with some places to stay while you are there. Not trying to be negative... Just one less person you have to worry about competing against in the drawing. :)

I put in for the first year lottery hunt .And after that i havent put in since.I figured they were only taking my money.I was invited by a friend to go on a cow hunt this year.It was an awesome place .so i guess im back at playing the lotto. Not very good odds for non-res though.good luck

Its $25 a chance for bull , $15 for antlerless , and the license for NR is $541 for bull and $331 for antlerless ...
