NM Minimum Hunting Age?

Can anyone answer me as to what the minimum age for hunting in NM for elk is? I have boys 10 & 8 years old. Never too early to get them into hunting

The way I read it, there is no age limit.

That's the same way I read it. But I thought that there might be some obscure info somewhere that I was overlooking.

I did see a thread where one of our member's daughter, who was 11, had shot an elk.

No age limit, just pass hunter ed. My son was 10 this last season and got to hunt turkey, antelope, deer and javelina.

There is no age limit. you just have to pass hunter safty class. I took it when I was only 8 years old.

Do non-resident youngsters have to pay full non-resident prices??

I thought the youth tags were priced differently than adults. Can someone confirm this?

Yes they do. That's probably something that needs to change. I know I can take my kid to hunt out of state for a reduced price. Should be the same for people coming in.

The way I understood it, non-resident youth are not allowed to apply for the youth hunts in New Mexico. They are strictly for the resident youth hunters. Is this true?
