Just wondering if anyone out there has ever hunted in 16E? The odds sure look good (especially for the 1-15 Sept hunt), but I really don't know much about the unit since I've only hunted close to home in 34. Just curious if this is a good hunt and what kind of elk numbers are there. Sounds like alot of private land and fairly open. Don't know if it would be too difficult to bowhunt. Any thoughts, ideas, or past experiences would be much appreciated. Thanks!

crazyboutcoues had some hunters in there last year that did pretty well , he actaully posted some great pics from that unit and I've spoke to him about it , its a good unit for sure ....

Thanks for the reply. Is the 1st hunt in there a worthwhile choice? Looks like only 50 tags and much lower draw odds for the 2nd bowhunt.

I've always liked the second hunt dates better , hunted 16B 4 times , second hunt , but yeah I think the first hunt is still very much worth while . Bulls are trying to establish whos who , and by the ending days are starting to gather harems . The last elk I killed was on the 13th of Sept . but called in a very hot nice 6x6 the morning before for my dad . Weather and the moon , if its full and pretty hot , the elk generally feed and move during the later/earlier hours , but they are animals and have a mind of thier own , its almost like trying to figure out a woman ....Won't happen , but yes , I think the first hunt is still good..

I have not hunted 16E but all around it. Heard it is pretty tough with a bow but that is second hand info. Hunted 16B last year and 16A years ago.
