Well, now that the application period is over.... what everyone apply for on elk?

Me Unit 39 bow bull 1st choice and 201 late cow 2nd choice...

I really thought about doing unit 21 4th season rifle bull as 2nd choice but.....

I went for 66 muzzleloader bull and hope to have a few of my 10 points left over. I threw in the towel on the NW corner units with the new nonresident 20% cap combined with the total preference system.

I also put in for a point. I now have 14 as well for a non-resident. It will be interesting to see how things shake out this year with all the changes.

My dad put in for unit 10 muzzleloader. He has 14 this year and will be a long shot for the tag.

My brothers put in for archery tags by Meeker. They are hoping to draw with minimal points and bank the rest.

PP first and cow in unit 3, first season. Thats 12 points now but I'm looking to get out of the game myself. I want to hunt unit 4 in archery and can't get it as a 2nd choice. By the time I draw the dream hunt, i'll be too old to anything with it.

Question........... I draw my 1st choice..... the 1st round ends, there are still tags left and they go into the 2nd round.... my 2nd choice has say 8 tags left/with only 3 aaplicants listed as 2nd choice....2 of those idn't draw 1st choice so they get 2 of the 8......6 are now left and I am the only 1 left in the 2nd choice pool.... do I get that tag too??????? or because I drew 1st choice those say 6 tags go to the leftover list...????

One application is for one tag. There is only payment for one tag. If you draw your first choice, you are done for that application.

I tried for unit 61 with 10 points as a nonres. Does any one think I'll get it? Near as I could tell their may be only 23 or 24 tags this year for the first season. Probably to many ahead of me.

Archery 61 should not draw with only 8 points non-res but I also think this new rule may have made alot of applicants purchase or bank this year who knows.My question is how many feel they will keep this banking program going?

My buddy and I went for 66 ML Bull with 14 non res points each. If we don't draw then we'll go to 15 points, and maybe try for 61 ML next year. We decided we'd rather have two good hunts than keep on holding out for the great one we may never draw.

Tbuck, I hope you draw. That should mean my buddy and I come out of this with 5 points remaining. Maybe we'll live long enough to hunt this unit again.

We just bought points for deer. That will bring us up to 13.

WAR. I wish i knew. if i could use my 11 points to draw good unit for several years, i would have started using them. my luck is i would have used a couple of points to draw a good archery tag and they will stop banking. then i'd never draw the great tag i dream of. go figure!
