This bull taken by Karl Hirst officially Scored P&Y 385 net. This bull was taken in same area as the wallowing bull. Not the same bull... Therefore, what is the wallowing bulls score?

LAST EDITED ON Apr-07-06 AT 05:38PM (MST)[p]did someone kill the wallowing bull and you know its score.

392 3/8 net

First off thet picture gave me a chubby. Thank you!! I guessed him at 387 gross. Hard to tell from that angle. Thanks again. What state?

UTAH mud bather.

Not the same bull.

This wallowing bulls photo was resurfaced due the the harvested bull's photo. I saw many similar features but believe these two bulls to be different.

Your guess is as good as mine... An official P&Y scorer commented that the wallowing bull's thirds seem to be slighty longer. What's your opinion? (Again, Karl Hirst your bull is a stud. All hats off to you. I would die a happy man tomorrow if I shot a bull half as huge as your 385 bull.)

This post is only for "what if's" Please, "post-police" don't take any offense.

Any other bull wallowing photos out there?

Are the left 5th different?

Hell after looking at it several times... they could be the same...

Photographer of wallow bull doesn't even know Karl Hirst.

I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE SCORE I JUST WANT THE GPS LOCATION OF THAT WALLOW.I WILL START WALKING RIGHT NOW AND MAKE IT RIGHT ON TIME FOR THE RUT.dITTO ABOUT THE CHUBBY.

The 385 bull is not the same bull in the wallow. First give away is the curve on his G-4 on the right side. Still love that pic.

How did the dude take a picture of a wallowing bull in 2006? Sorry must have been 2005
I'd guess 380.
Thanks for posting, great pictures!
Jeff

2005 is correct. My mistake.

Does anyone know how to download GL2 digital cannon footage?

I would love to show some more BIG BULLS, that were not photographed but were shot with video.

I probably need explained from the basics. I don't know if I have any software. What can I buy to download? I have Moviemaker but it doesn't recognize my device (digital video camera). I've hit a dead end. Any pro's out there that can give me some advice?

Thanks

Is this the day by day hunt scenario played out at bowsite?
I think I remember seeing that pic before.

I have seen both of these photo's many times, but didn't match them up. I will have my hands on the 385 bull tonight. At first look I would say the G-3's are larger on the wallowing bull. Here is where I see them as similar. The right G-1 turns up sharper than the left. The right G-2 comes out and ends lower than the G-1. The left G-2 ends even, height wise, with the G-1. The left mainbeam has a small wiggle, were the G-6 would have been. I know where the 385 bull was taken, and I heard through the rumor mill, where Mr. Allard was camped last year. I'm "absolutely without a doubt" sure that they are the same bull, and that the only "half way decent" bull has been removed from the hunting unit. So there is no need for anyone to apply in the future. I will take a closer look at the rack tonight.

Good to hear from the horses mouth. What a bull Karl! Congratualtions on a great bull! Any highlights or photos are welcomed. Love to see close up photos of this bull.

Bull on left. This distance give a better comparison of that could play out to be the same. The Wallowing bull was not harvested by the photographer... but obviously from the post, Karl Hirst may have.

What do you think.

Any other wallowing bull photographs? Love to look at them.

DIFFERENT BULLS! Look at the Main beam - the Hirst bull doesn't have the waggle. Same gene pool though!

Last night I looked very carefully at the picture and the bull. There are many similar characteristis, close enough to say that they could possibly have a mother or father in commom. From what I have heard and read about Mr. Allard's hunt I think the bulls were living about 30 miles from each other. Mr. Allard obviously shown a large amount of restrain in not shooting a tremendous bull, while looking for a giant bull. I don't think that I would have been able to pass the bull up.

Bill Allard obviously had this on a tripod... I would have been shaking the camera... Most would have had a bow drawn...WOW!

Gary:

When are you going to bring that video and camera over to my shop so we can capture it and upload some clips?

That bull is still walking the woods of southeastern Utah as far as we know and I'm going to draw a tag for him this year :)

That first pic is the finest elk picture ever taken if you ask me.

Cheers,
Pete

All Photo credits go to Bill Allard known as BB at bowsite.com
For those of you who don't know Bill postings they are legendary there. He also sends photos to Utah Division of Wildlife form as BB too.

PETE,
I'll carry my camera and plan a trip over this week.

Here are a few more Bill Allard sent over. Enjoy.

What a classic ending! Ask Bill if he wants to guide me on SJ this year? I plan on drawing ya know. Hee hee. With three points, I'm not expecting much, but some one in the 50% pool has to draw, it might as well be me.

Thanks for passing on those pics Gary, they are awesome.

Is it Septeber yet? Can't wait. You've got the fire started man.

Thanks,

Jeremy
