Maybe I missed something but did he draw and if so which unit? I'm hoping he drew and would hope he would make another appearance come fall with his once in a lifetime bull.

ktc drew a Mt Dutton early rifle permit.

He has not been around because he is on vacation in Mexico and enjoying life. Just got an e-mail from him and he is loving the sun. I'm sure he will post his harvest when the time comes...

I am back. Well, I never left? antlerrick is right. Dutton early. I thought about leaving cuz I was fearful I would no longer have griping material. I am not going anywhere. Certainly I can find something to gripe about.;-) This place is like a bad alcohol problem.

as of 2005 there were 361 with 13 resident elk points
1086 with 12 points
1631 with 11 points
now that we have drawn 2006 these numbers have decreased but there are still alot of bonus points left to draw.

No marguaritas. Not for a while. I need my blood pressure to go back down. There for a week I forgot I drew out. I need to start thinking about that again. I hope no one thinks I am going to get a 400 bull because that probably won't happen. 350+ would be nice though. High expectations was the other reason I thought I may need to go away!

Me and my wife needed to celebrate 20 years. I thought we would do that with an elk tag, but we decided to go Mexico. Now if my house would quit rocking and I would quit feeling like puking I would start thinking elk.

The hardest part of the tag for me was the expectations. My advice would be do put the whole what will he score behind you and enjoy the hunt. You will know when the right bull steps out, OR when you drive up to him. J/K! 400, 350, 340. Who really cares? This is about a truly incredible hunt that you have anticipated for over 13 years! Enjoy every second of it! I did not enjoy most of my hunt due to the pressures I applied to myself and I regret that more than anything! Smile, take a deep breath and sweet dreams my friend. I will trade you my spike tag if your not up to the pressure!!!!!

Good tag, awesome, enjoy, stories I hear about those good Utah tags are mind bogling compared to where I have elk hunted! Seeing a 5x5 200" each day was a good trip!

Ktc since ya said that a guy needs to focus on what he expects. Have ya had a chance to set your expectations? And what are they? On my hunt last year I had expectations and that is what I got. However I had a bull at 200 he looked good looked right and I had him in my cross hairs for about 15 secs. I didn't have a good chance to really size him up. So I let him walk only to find later he was a lunker. Just food for thought if it looks and feels good in hurry up situation Maybe shoot ah never mind.
